SUNDAY WORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
✝️Holy Week

Hello Friends!

Holy Week invites us to slow our pace and walk closely with Jesus during the most meaningful days of our faith. From the waving palms of Palm Sunday, when we proclaim “Hosanna” and welcome Christ as King, to the quiet sorrow of the cross, and ultimately to the joy of Easter morning, this sacred week shapes our hearts, our worship, and our lives.

Holy Week is not simply a retelling of events long ago—it is a spiritual journey we are invited to enter anew each year. As we move through these days, we are called to reflect on Christ’s love, humility, and sacrifice, and to allow God to prepare our hearts for the hope and joy of the Resurrection.

I also want to share a brief personal note. I will be out of the country from March 19 until March 30, but I am grateful that I will be back in time to walk with you through all of Holy Week and Easter. I am very much looking forward to sharing these sacred days together as a church family.

Our Maundy Thursday celebration will draw us into the powerful story of Jesus’ final night with his disciples. On that evening, Jesus knelt to wash their feet, offering a living example of servant love, and then shared the meal that would become our sacrament of Communion. Maundy Thursday reminds us that the Christian life is rooted in love expressed through service, humility, and grace. It is a deeply moving service that invites us to remember not only what Jesus did, but how he calls us to live.

We will also once again offer the Footsteps of Jesus Walk, an opportunity to prayerfully journey through key moments of Holy Week. I have never participated in the Footsteps of Jesus Walk, but I will work with the Interfaith Council and try to continue the tradition. More information about both of these events will be shared soon, and I hope you will make plans to participate.

As Holy Week unfolds, may we open our hearts to God’s presence and allow these sacred days to shape us. When we take time to walk with Jesus through suffering, service, and sacrifice, Easter joy becomes all the more meaningful. My prayer is that this Holy Week will draw us closer to Christ and prepare us to celebrate the good news of resurrection with renewed faith and gratitude.

Blessings!

🙏  SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES
Join us each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. as our church family gathers for worship, music, prayers and a Bible-based sermon.

Children stay with their families in church through the children’s sermon, then leave for Sunday school.  On the third Sunday, children stay in church with their families. Packets with stories, puzzles, coloring pages, etc. are available for children during the worship service.  There is a nursery for infants through preschool children.

After worship service come and enjoy a time of fellowship with others over light refreshments in Gillespie Hall.  It’s a great time to visit informally.

COMMUNION (1st Sunday)
Is March 1st!
We partake in Communion by intinction. This practice involves breaking off a smaller piece of bread from a larger loaf. Then, we dip it into consecrated wine (or juice) before consuming. The Pastor breaks apart a larger loaf of bread. We break off smaller pieces and dip them into a communal goblet of wine (or juice). If you are unsure how to join, but would like to join in Communion, don’t worry about the details. Simply watch the folks around you. Follow their lead.
We also offer a gluten free choice for the convenience of those with certain allergies.

If you can’t attend our worship service, here is the link for the live recorded service on Community Presbyterian YouTube channel:

NOISY BUCKETS (1st Sunday)
The Noisy Bucket offering is collected on the third Sunday of each month, with the children shaking tin buckets as those in the congregation donate their coins (green is accepted).  This offering is donated monthly to the Box Elder Community Pantry to help those with food insecurity.
