Philosophy

3 Year Old Classes

Lessons in the three year-old classes are prepared and implemented with focus. Self-control is one of the main goals. This includes perspective taking, communication, and making connections. Critical thinking, taking on challenges, and self-directed engaged learning are also primary objectives.

Developmentally appropriate activities encourage children to cultivate their social skills, refine their fine motor skills and become enthusiastic learners .

4 Year Old Classes

Four year-old classes are planned with Developmentally Appropriate Activities to prepare children for Kindergarten.

  • Social Skills to include self care, empathy, taking on challenges, listen while others talk, effectively communicates , play & interact cooperatively with other children and separate from parent without undue anxiety.
  • Letter & sound recognition
  • Recognize & write numbers 1-12, count to 20
  • Write & recognize first name
  • Pre-reading skills (sequencing, prediction & know parts of a book)
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Sorting by categories
  • Engages in finger plays, songs & stories
  • Daily recess activities

Community Preschool is a 501(c)(3) non-profit preschool affiliated with our church and located within our facility.
